Step 5 – Install Motor & Motor Platform

New Parts needed for this step:

  1. Motor
  2. Motor Platform
  3. Motor Platform Legs (Left & Right)

Step 5.1 – Identify the parts

From top to bottom: Motor, Motor Platform, Motor Platform Legs.

Step 5.2 – Slide the motor onto the Motor Platform

From the rear of the Motor Platform, slide the gearbox onto the platform.

Step 5.3 – Slide the motor into position

Slide the motor fully forward.

The motor doesn't have to be fully forward. Don't put too much stress trying to get it all the way. Close is good enough.

Step 5.4 – Insert the platform legs

Insert the platform legs into the small sockets at the bottom rear of the base. Align the legs as shown.

If you put the legs in the wrong position, be careful to pull them directly backwards so as not to break one.

Step 5.5 – Insert the motor platform

Insert the guide rails for the motor platform into the backside of the reducer base.

Step 5.6 – Fully position the motor platform

Slide the motor platform forward and down until it is inserted fully.

Be careful not to apply too much pressure in any one direction. Wiggle the motor platform side to side slightly to help it slide.

Step 5.7 – Connect the platform legs

Squeeze the platform legs together slightly, allowing the motor platform to drop down. Press each platform leg into its socket.
